Overland Aventure Rally was a great success for the Turncycle Centre stand disc. People are already talking about next year!
The Turncycle display booth was set up at The Mohawk Inn in Cambellville for the weekend festivities. The parking lot was full of dual purpose motorcycles from all the major brands, vintage motocross, Dakar rally racing motorcycles and even a amphibious car! Around 160 registered riders met to learn about the adventure riding lifestyle. Warren Milner a guest speaker from Honda Canada, spoke about issues of set up and how designers are always trying to compromise on horsepower, weight, and handling. Rene Cormier spoke about his 4 1/2 year trip around the world.
Saturday started with breakfast for the participants and followed by a riders meeting. Two routes were planned an off-road and road course, for motorcycles without knobby tires. GPS heading were downloaded to the riders on Friday night. We set off on an terrific ride on the road course, ending up in Belfountain, Hockley, Mono Centre, Glen Williams, and Grand Valley.
